This is a min-con my anime club hosts in the campus center, so yeah, it’s not really known. But I feel I should write SOMEthing about it, because I really did enjoy it. It was small, and yeah I was in the Karaoke room half of the day (and the other half just hanging by the info desk xD), but totally enjoyable. It still had that convention feel while at the same time not being crazy huge.

So, let’s see, what can I talk about… xD I guess I can really only talk in-detail about the Karaoke room stuff, but my brain’s still half asleep, so I can only remember a few things. The contest was awesome sauce, and I somehow remembered all the dance and words to Seikan Hikou still and got second place. I think I screwed up a few lines but it was better than my AN09 performance where I screwed up and made it obvious… ^^;;>

After the contest a group of three girls, who I’ve seen before, now calling themselves “Promise” performed a few songs. Very well done and everyone ended up joining in clapping or snapping our fingers to the beat. xD Following the contest, America from Hetalia Rickroll’d the room (which is already on youtube), and as people were thinning out I managed to get the Nico Nico Douga Medley sang, though sadly I don’t think anyone recorded it. D: Also the original pokemon song was sung by the hetalia group, which also got the entire room singing. xD

Following that all I really did was hang around thinking I should back and read an essay for my class. After about 2 hours of saying that to myself I decided to screw it and just stay. Not much else happened, so I’ll leave it at that. It was a great day, even though I’m still sort of tired. :P

This is a little over-due, but ah well, I remembered I should do this, and am going to now. This is going to be a brief review of Pokemon SoulSilver. There’s not a lot I can say about it really, since I only understand bits and pieces across the entire game, but I feel like I should make a post on the game as a whole anyways. There will still be a HG (US) post when I get that and finish it, of course.

Game GET!! — 358/2 Days

http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab77/nyaronchan/blog/Kingdom_Hearts_358_2_days_by_CoolPs.jpgGot this game as well now (oh geez, now I’m conflicted, Pokemon or Kingdom Hearts?), and started it. Rather interesting game play I have to say, it keeps some things the same while bringing in rather different elements to make this game just and quirky as Chain of Memories. It’s interesting not playing Sora for once, though granted the player is Roxas, who is practically Sora anyways. It’s also a rather interesting start considering this is the story of Roxas right after Sora became a heartless back in KHI, during which Roxas is still an ORG.13 member.

It may be the fact it’s a Kingdom Hearts game, it may be because it’s Square-Ennix, but I’m enjoying this game so far, and am excited to see where this all ends up.

Game GET!! — An Idol, a Persona, and some Pokemon

All in one day! *is having game overload* I have had time to play each one for a couple of hours, so I’ll give a quick opinion on each.

Let’s start with THE iDOLM@STER: Dearly Stars for the DS. I didn’t get as far as the other two games, but anyways. I started story mode with Ai. Besides her being to freaking loud, I quite like the change in role for this game. Also all the 360/L4U type of camera/vocals control is really nice and interesting to play with. I’ll have to get used to it.

http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab77/nyaronchan/blog/Shin_Megami_Tensei_Persona_Cover.jpgSecondly, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona for the PSP. On the ride home I opened up the sucker and played for literally an hour and a half straight. Not nearly as long as any constant play I’ve done on my console Persona games, but hey, it’s a portable game (and there was a cute little puppy wanting a little attention too~). The battle system is much different than I’m used to, but I think I can get used to it. The characters are interesting along with the story. I can’t wait to see the story develop. Also liking the music, though I hear those who’ve played the original don’t like it http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab77/nyaronchan/blog/pokemon-silver-cover.jpgas much.

And lastly, Pokemon SoulSilver for the DS. The game I’ve been impatient for. This thing fulfills my wishes and oh so much more. I really can’t say much other than omg it’s amazing. xD

Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone — Anime Movie

http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab77/nyaronchan/blog/2.jpgOkay, so I’ve never seen Eva, merely heard of it (lol who hasn’t, amirite?), but since a group from my anime club was going up, I figured ‘Ah why not?’ and headed up to NYC to see it as well. Great fun trip really, but that’s not what matters here, the movie is what’s important. I’m kinda speechless it was that good, so I’m going to be a girl of few words for this post.

A remake of the beginning of the Evangelion series, which of course I haven’t seen so this was all new to me, but anyways, it was freaking amazing. To be honest, that’s all I can really say. Since the plot itself was all new to me, it was also a matter of being in awe at the story. I have to say there were parts where it just, oh goodness, captured me so much. Very nice.

As a side, lol related, note, there was, like, a little kid in the theater. lol wat. That kid should not have been there. xD

http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab77/nyaronchan/blog/bakemono_28371.jpgI randomly decided to pick this series yesterday and got all of the episodes currently out. I’m merely going to give a brief overview and will only be posting at the end of arcs (Which will probably be 1-2 (this Tsubasa Cat and maybe another) at this point in the show), since I don’t really feel like commenting for every episode.

CDs — Crosslight by Yuuki Masami x kz/Livetune

http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab77/nyaronchan/blog/vocaloid_crosslight.jpgReleased a little over a week ago, this is a new kz/Livetune CD, this time a joint production with Yuuki Masami. This CD, like other livetune CDs, features the vocal talents of Vocaloids.

This CD tells the story of a robot girl Neon, or KZR-28, who is voiced by Hatsune Miku. She interacts with a boy (His name in the booklet is 少年), and a scientist (whose kanji name I can’t even begin to read, sorry). Neon begins singing in track 2 with “I.C. (I see)”, and continues to sing “initial song”. Then there is a single track break with the instrumental “Panorama Future”, and Neon hears of GUMI’s songs with track 5, COSMiCA. Neon sings again in track 6, sepia, and during the 7th and final track of the CD, Crosslight, Neon and Gumi sing together.

Follow below the cut for brief opinions on each track.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Chibi-Meower/blog/Persona3_FES_Game.jpgNow this isn’t exactly a review (despite my P3FES Journey post being not so organized), The fact is that this marks my beat of P3FES finally. It’s been almost half a year later (geez, nearly 6 months!) and I finally, FINALLY, got the motivation to finish this darned grindfest. Yeah, that’s pretty much the way to put it, The Answer is a grindfest. I can’t tell you how much the fact I needed to grind had me put off about getting back into this. And while maybe not the best choice for a ‘new’ persona game, I thank Atlus for announcing Persona 3 Portable as it was the kick in the butt I needed to finish this sucker. So, follow me behind the cut for a bit of comments on this portion of FES.

edit: This post was written at 2AM, excuse the slightly spaced out sound to it. xD

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Chibi-Meower/blog/ponyo_002.jpgWell, since it recently released (The Disney Dub), I figured I would go see it with friends as part of my birthday party. Disney’s done Ghibli dubs, so I trusted them for the most part to at least give us a good dub. Not to mention the reviews I’ve skimmed have given it good ratings, plus friends on twitter said the dub wasn’t horrible. Though, I’ll agree… the remixed ending song may have been a bit much, it was a well done song and a remix is fine too. We only heard a little bit of the song though, since due to restricted license curfew, we all had to high-tail it out of the theater to make it home in time. Anyways, onto a review of sorts.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Chibi-Meower/blog/toki_screen_006.pngOne of my two anime movie birthday presents (the other is currently still processing my mom said). I got to watch this with my friends yesterday during my birthday party, and it was very good, so after watching it again, subbed this time, Here’s my little talk about it.

warning: there may be spoilers, but then again, this movie and story isn’t exactly new, so I don’t think it should be a big problem.
