Okay, so I’ve never seen Eva, merely heard of it (lol who hasn’t, amirite?), but since a group from my anime club was going up, I figured ‘Ah why not?’ and headed up to NYC to see it as well. Great fun trip really, but that’s not what matters here, the movie is what’s important. I’m kinda speechless it was that good, so I’m going to be a girl of few words for this post.
A remake of the beginning of the Evangelion series, which of course I haven’t seen so this was all new to me, but anyways, it was freaking amazing. To be honest, that’s all I can really say. Since the plot itself was all new to me, it was also a matter of being in awe at the story. I have to say there were parts where it just, oh goodness, captured me so much. Very nice.
As a side, lol related, note, there was, like, a little kid in the theater. lol wat. That kid should not have been there. xD

Well, since it recently released (The Disney Dub), I figured I would go see it with friends as part of my birthday party. Disney’s done Ghibli dubs, so I trusted them for the most part to at least give us a good dub. Not to mention the reviews I’ve skimmed have given it good ratings, plus friends on twitter said the dub wasn’t horrible. Though, I’ll agree… the remixed ending song may have been a bit much, it was a well done song and a remix is fine too. We only heard a little bit of the song though, since due to restricted license curfew, we all had to high-tail it out of the theater to make it home in time. Anyways, onto a review of sorts.

One of my two anime movie birthday presents (the other is currently still processing my mom said). I got to watch this with my friends yesterday during my birthday party, and it was very good, so after watching it again, subbed this time, Here’s my little talk about it.
warning: there may be spoilers, but then again, this movie and story isn’t exactly new, so I don’t think it should be a big problem.

I have to say, this show kept me wanting more. Just about every week I would be saying to myself “Is the next episode out yet?” Usually when it comes to me watching anime, I’d forget or be like “Oh I can watch it tomorrow”. But with Eden of the East, I wanted to watch it the minute it came out (edit: except for when I was sick, Nap > Anime). This show was amazing. The ending was well done (And not a horrible cliffhanger like they could have done), and I’m looking forward to the two movies when they do show up.
I also want to say that I hope this series gets licensed. I don’t care if it’s dubbed or not, I just want to own the DVDs subbed (…legally). This show is amazing and would, in my opinion, be well worth the money to license. Not to mention I would SO buy the DVDs (granted I have the money at the time, but at some point I will buy this series).
Now I just hope newer shows I find interesting can hold my attention like Eden of the East…

Past few episode I really didn’t have much to say besides the “This anime is aaaamaaazzziiing”. Though this episode was interesting enough to get me wanting to post, so here I am. First off, Kuroha needs to get killed by the Supporter. Like, now. Everything she did this episode made me hate her more and more. She did have that nice flying trick, but damn use your own money to buy it! I hope Akira’s okay.
Also, wow, it’s already past halfway through this series. I hope we meet more Selecao members soon, and I hope the movie isn’t going to be the ending to the whole series, would suck to have to wait for it.

Wow, with this episode I no longer care that I picked up a series when I’m behind on another 4. I can really say I love this series so much, this episode took it a turn for the awesome and I really enjoyed this episode. Though I will agree, it could have used more Saki, but eh it’s alright.
The information on Selacao was really interesting, and it’s nice to pretty much understand a lot more about this “game” they’re playing. Though I sort of find it funny that players didn’t start dropping like flies ’till Akira came back to Japan. xD; While I would like to say it’s obvious Akira will win, I’m sort of not too sure, they might have something more interesting up their sleeves that will blow everyone’s mind.
But anyways, really looking forward to next week~

So, uh, despite the fact I’m so insanely behind on last season’s shows that it might even be funny, I decided to pick this show up. Unfortunately, my computer doesn’t seem to be cooperating, and thus I’m back to hunting for streams since all the downloads I find are mkvs (save for one) and no matter what I try the subs, audio, and video are all off sync so bad. Heck, if the audio and video were at least in sync I’d make an attempt to understand, but even those two aren’t in sync! Hopefully I can find a way to fix this. Kinda doubting it.
And because at the point I went to take screencaps I had had enough, I’ve only got two from the OP and didn’t care to get any from the episodes themselves.

A friend of mine bought the Kashimashi complete collection and I played Yuri fangirl and got him to lend it to me before another friend. xD; But anyways, I love Kashimashi a lot. The manga makes me feel all happy, and besides for a few moments where I was like “WAIT WHAT?” at the end, the anime did as well. While slightly different, the anime kept the feeling of the manga as well as just about every scene, and I really liked the anime.

Dear God I got WAAAAY far behind. I think it was a couple of weeks ago I did take down 5-9 but had to stop for a couple of reasons. Due to that, details are kinda hazy and I don’t remember it too well besides what I’ve got screencaps of. xD I’m kinda glad I didn’t start 10-12 anyways, each episode got me in tears.
So, here’s my final thoughts on ef – A Tale of Melodies.

Things kinda got out of whack last week, so I’m catching up with double-duty posts on episodes now. Also, ef is now for Saturday and Yozakura is on Friday. I’ll catch up on Yozakura today or tomorrow, but episodes will be done on Fridays. Also, CLANNAD will be posted on at the end of the series instead of weekly.
Also, on a slightly related note, I find it funny that last year during NaNoWriMo I was watching ef – Memories, and this year it’s Melodies. xD
