The Life of a College Freshmen…
January 28, 2010 at 10:31 pm | Posted in Anime, Games, Life | 2 Comments
Well, as should be expected, things got pretty crazy. I’ve gotten busy, and to be honest, I haven’t really found any shows I care about watching and remembering to get the episodes for. I have, despite the new shows not really interesting me, been watching some anime, however it’s been things I don’t care to much to talk about, or I forgot about writing on it long enough I didn’t really remember the episode or what I would have wanted to say so I never wrote anything.
To be specific, I have watched the 5 Kotone episodes of Pokémon, which I’m planning to write about as the dub episodes air since they begin airing next weekend and I’m going to watch them anyways, and the entirety of Angelic Layer. Angelic Layer I watched over break, however I was also horrendously sick and barely had the energy at points to keep my head up and watching my laptop screen (I never thought I would say this, but thank goodness for dubs (even the crappy ones), I don’t think my brain could have handled subs at that time). I kind of wanted to write something on it, however, like I said, I was sick (and stayed sick for a few days after finishing the marathon) and wasn’t up to writing a post on the entire series, and left it to a single tweet saying I finished it and that I like it better than the manga because there’s more character depth.
I may get around to collecting the remainder of the Tsubasa Cat arc of Bakemonogatari and finally finish that series at some point, however school work takes precedent over everything else, and it seems like I’m always having something to do that’s school-related. And for the cases I don’t? Well, I have games to play that have been keeping me away from watching more anime.
Which brings me to the other point I wanted to bring up. Since I did try to keep up with this once, but back when I was doing more anime watching than gaming, I’m going to try it again. “It” being writing a post on what I do gaming-wise. It’s mostly because I feel that there’s more I want to say about the games I’m playing rather than the “I Bought it” and later the “This is my opinion on the whole thing”. These’ll prolly have spoilers (read: will have spoilers), and will just be something I put together to say what I’ve been doing in the gaming world. I can’t really set a schedule for it because my gaming has been thrown out of a schedule due to my class set up this semester, however I’ll post when I can and try to make at least one a week.
So yeah, that’s it. I’m still alive, still (sorta) watching anime, and still playing video games. I haven’t really posted anything in nearly a month, so I want to try and post something.
Winter 08 Season Preview

Well now the chart has poped up on the internets, so I took a look through it. So long as I can catch up to my Fall anime seasons quick and soon, I hope to also cover the two Yuri series coming up, Maria+Holic and Maria-sama ga Miteru S4. Somewhere along the line I should go back and watch all of Maria-Sama, so hopefully I can get that done within the mess of NaNoWriMo.
Also, I’ll probably look into Akikan!, though it sounds really ridiculous and what-not.

Really the first of the “Gamer Talk” sessions. I actually almost started this on Thursday because I had off and thought it was saturday. xD Anyways, while my last gaming post was on a Sunday, I kinda don’t count it or whatever.
Um, anyways, here we go~
Lucky☆Star OVA

Felt like watching something, so I watched this. There’s about 4 or 5 different sketches in the OVA episode, reaching out to 40 minutes. There were somethings I didn’t get, while others were brilliant, but I enjoyed it none-the-less.

Mahou Tsukai : Natsu no Sora — Episode 5

I blame PangYa and College stuff and… and… whatever else I can blame for being late on watching this. I’ve been like “I need to watch this” but then never actually DO.
Anyways, Sora has two assignments in this episode. This a sort-of “Sora messes up” kind of episode. She screws up just a bit, or magic just isn’t enough, and she feels bad about it.

Playstation3 Anime Downloads

So, according to ANN, the Playstation Network is now putting up Anime Episode downloads for 2$. Firstly, their list is seems to have an abundance of guns. Though I do know the majority of PS3 buyers are Guys, so whatever. I have yet to receive an e-mail stating the new content, but I think that’s once every so many weeks, and I don’t normally read them. xD;
If my dad can spare 2$ for an episode, I’ll see what comes out of this. I don’t know if it’s dub or sub, though I’d put my money on the dub. And while I would much more enjoy to have the DVDs and not limit myself to one TV to watch it on (Most specifically, the ONLY non-HD TV in the house. =___=;; ), but it could be a way to see if I like a series. Thumbs up Funimation, I hope this works out well.

Well, I was looking at some of MangaBullet’s news entries, and clicked on the source link and spotted something a bit more interesting. According to this site, There’s going to be a new ef installment. I can’t read it all too well, but the link and PV on the site makes me happy. While ef – A Tale of Memories ended rather cheesy, I still enjoyed it. I’ll deffinatly be on the look out for this show.
Ayres, Unfortunatly for you, No one gives a damn.

Let’s add my torch to the fire, since I had enough of a wall of text over on Hinano‘s rant. So to set the scene, basically we got another case of FanSub VS. Dub sort of thing goin’ on. Well… sort of. More like “Illegal” VS. Company. Er… whatever. Basically, A rant about Greg Ayres’ Panel at AnimeNext08 and how much of a god he THINKS he is, and how much he’s REALLY NOT. Honestly, if some how, some way My dad ever works with him and I somehow meet him, I will tell his face off. And I will love every damned minute of it.

Anyways, AnimeNext is rolling around the corner quickly, and I’m making last minute preparations for everything. I’ve got a CD to burn, a wig to comb, bags to pack, and finals to take.
Hopefully all will go well, and no harm will be done to anybody. Here’s my plans for the weekend, if people wish to find me…
