Well, like every other Vocaloid fan, I was excited to hear about an OVA being made based off the popular Black★Rock Shooter song. I had been waiting for it to show up online for the longest time. When we finally got a date it would be released, I was excited. And then… I watched it. To put it simply, it was far from what I excepted.

Today marks the end of the Kotone episodes! Aw, I’m going to miss her. D: She’s such an awesome character, not just because of the fact she’s the anime counter part to my favorite Pokémon main game protagonist, but also because she has an interesting personality. I hope she appears later, but chances are she won’t. This episode was pretty good, though it’s sad to see Kotone go.

Pokémon: Dressed for Jess Success! [DP146]

Today’s episode was the Suiren (Lilypad) Town contest, where Hikari (Dawn) majorly gets her ass kicked! Well, only against Jessilina/James dressed as Jessie. James, who’s pretending to be Jessie because she’s sick, wins the ribbon, which I was happy to see. Hopefully she gets farther and gets more ribbons. I didn’t watch practically any of the Advance Generation portion of Pokémon, but I heard she didn’t get any ribbons and never made it any farther, so it would be nice to see Jessie get somewhere with this. It definitely gives something more to her character than just chasing after Ash for all this time.

Morning~! Anyways, this week’s Pokémon episode just finished up, time to talk about it. Kotone (Lyra) plays cupid this episode even more, and at the same time starts to realize Kazunari (Khoury) isn’t the same as he was in DP143. x3 As you can guess, someone gets a Gible/Fukamaru, and it’s Kazunari. He finally stopped acting like an idiot! Horray! Behind the cut we goooo~

And with today’s episode we finish the first one hour special Japan aired for HGSS. I didn’t wake up too early this time, so I’m not nearly as tired. xD But, anyways, this episode was enjoyable. Personally I would have liked for CartoonNetwork to run the Kotone episodes as the one hour specials like they originally were, but I also realize the time constraints (because all they seem to care about are those stupid live-action shows they’re doing these days. =_=) and the fact the games are still about a month away so one a week brings them out to the Saturday before the US release date. So I guess it’s okay. :P Anyways, beyond the cut we go~!

*yawns* I woke up a bit too early to watch, but I sure as heck didn’t miss it! The dub airing of the Johto Festival Episode, known as “An Egg Scramble!” in English. Note to Cartoon Network: Seriously, 7am is too early. :| Hopefully I can keep waking up for these episodes though, it’s great to see Kotone (No, I will not call her Lyra)! To be honest, Kotone is the only reason I wanted to get up for this episode and the four more to air. ^^;> She’s just such a great character and I really do love Kotone. Anyways, moving along~

MokuCon ’09

This is a min-con my anime club hosts in the campus center, so yeah, it’s not really known. But I feel I should write SOMEthing about it, because I really did enjoy it. It was small, and yeah I was in the Karaoke room half of the day (and the other half just hanging by the info desk xD), but totally enjoyable. It still had that convention feel while at the same time not being crazy huge.

So, let’s see, what can I talk about… xD I guess I can really only talk in-detail about the Karaoke room stuff, but my brain’s still half asleep, so I can only remember a few things. The contest was awesome sauce, and I somehow remembered all the dance and words to Seikan Hikou still and got second place. I think I screwed up a few lines but it was better than my AN09 performance where I screwed up and made it obvious… ^^;;>

After the contest a group of three girls, who I’ve seen before, now calling themselves “Promise” performed a few songs. Very well done and everyone ended up joining in clapping or snapping our fingers to the beat. xD Following the contest, America from Hetalia Rickroll’d the room (which is already on youtube), and as people were thinning out I managed to get the Nico Nico Douga Medley sang, though sadly I don’t think anyone recorded it. D: Also the original pokemon song was sung by the hetalia group, which also got the entire room singing. xD

Following that all I really did was hang around thinking I should back and read an essay for my class. After about 2 hours of saying that to myself I decided to screw it and just stay. Not much else happened, so I’ll leave it at that. It was a great day, even though I’m still sort of tired. :P

https://i2.wp.com/i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab77/nyaronchan/blog/2.jpgOkay, so I’ve never seen Eva, merely heard of it (lol who hasn’t, amirite?), but since a group from my anime club was going up, I figured ‘Ah why not?’ and headed up to NYC to see it as well. Great fun trip really, but that’s not what matters here, the movie is what’s important. I’m kinda speechless it was that good, so I’m going to be a girl of few words for this post.

A remake of the beginning of the Evangelion series, which of course I haven’t seen so this was all new to me, but anyways, it was freaking amazing. To be honest, that’s all I can really say. Since the plot itself was all new to me, it was also a matter of being in awe at the story. I have to say there were parts where it just, oh goodness, captured me so much. Very nice.

As a side, lol related, note, there was, like, a little kid in the theater. lol wat. That kid should not have been there. xD

https://i2.wp.com/i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab77/nyaronchan/blog/bakemono_28371.jpgI randomly decided to pick this series yesterday and got all of the episodes currently out. I’m merely going to give a brief overview and will only be posting at the end of arcs (Which will probably be 1-2 (this Tsubasa Cat and maybe another) at this point in the show), since I don’t really feel like commenting for every episode.

https://i0.wp.com/i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Chibi-Meower/blog/ponyo_002.jpgWell, since it recently released (The Disney Dub), I figured I would go see it with friends as part of my birthday party. Disney’s done Ghibli dubs, so I trusted them for the most part to at least give us a good dub. Not to mention the reviews I’ve skimmed have given it good ratings, plus friends on twitter said the dub wasn’t horrible. Though, I’ll agree… the remixed ending song may have been a bit much, it was a well done song and a remix is fine too. We only heard a little bit of the song though, since due to restricted license curfew, we all had to high-tail it out of the theater to make it home in time. Anyways, onto a review of sorts.
