Dear God I got WAAAAY far behind. I think it was a couple of weeks ago I did take down 5-9 but had to stop for a couple of reasons. Due to that, details are kinda hazy and I don’t remember it too well besides what I’ve got screencaps of. xD I’m kinda glad I didn’t start 10-12 anyways, each episode got me in tears.
So, here’s my final thoughts on ef – A Tale of Melodies.
ef – A Tale of Memories was amazing, and I really enjoyed it in the end. When Melodies was announced I was really happy because Melodies = More ef! <3 Though sadly, NaNoWriMo ate me alive and I ended up not finishing it until today, but hey I finished it.
The characters are well developed and you can see the changes that happen over the episodes, though I think a lot of their changes happen towards the end (They’re busy forming relationships in the beginning anyways).
Yuu-kun / Yuuko Arc: Okay, so the end of Episode 10 just started the tears rolling. YUUKO’S DEAD? TT_______TT That and made me wonder “Wait then how’d the rest of the cast see her…?” Thankfully it’s explained and whatnot and Yuu-kun sees her again. The ending of their arc was very lovely, and it’s nice to see Yuu-kun’s dream fulfilled in a way. He wanted to build a beautiful city. ~<3
Mizuki / Kuze Arc: Okay so I like the arc better ’cause I like Mizuki. Shh. The touch that Kuze actually was the one who started her side ponytail? Nice touch! So adorable. Though I wonder why she changed her name from Miki to Mizuki? Huh. Kuze’s almost death? OMG NOOOOO–OMG YAAAAAY. That’s about how I reacted to that scene. Their ending was sweet and I’m glad they stayed together~ <3
Other Characters: Nagi was cool. xD Megane for the win. I felt bad for her at points, but it’s nice to see over the years she knew her and Yuu weren’t gonna happen. She was a cool character in my opinion if for no other reason then for her glasses. xD As for the inclusion of Melodies character, I liked how they had relationships with the new season’s characters. It made it feel like a continuation more so than a sequel. Plus, without them, Yuu-kun’s end wouldn’t have been as amazing.
So that’s about it. I still love the OP versions from this show, I really liked how they became full color at the end of Episode 12. One catch up down, two more to go!
