Game Review — Pokémon SoulSilver (JP)

This is a little over-due, but ah well, I remembered I should do this, and am going to now. This is going to be a brief review of Pokemon SoulSilver. There’s not a lot I can say about it really, since I only understand bits and pieces across the entire game, but I feel like I should make a post on the game as a whole anyways. There will still be a HG (US) post when I get that and finish it, of course.
Persona 3 FES — The Answer

Now this isn’t exactly a review (despite my P3FES Journey post being not so organized), The fact is that this marks my beat of P3FES finally. It’s been almost half a year later (geez, nearly 6 months!) and I finally, FINALLY, got the motivation to finish this darned grindfest. Yeah, that’s pretty much the way to put it, The Answer is a grindfest. I can’t tell you how much the fact I needed to grind had me put off about getting back into this. And while maybe not the best choice for a ‘new’ persona game, I thank Atlus for announcing Persona 3 Portable as it was the kick in the butt I needed to finish this sucker. So, follow me behind the cut for a bit of comments on this portion of FES.
edit: This post was written at 2AM, excuse the slightly spaced out sound to it. xD
Game Review — BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

Geez I’ve been ripping through new games real fast lately. Anyways, now that I have completed story mode I will give this amazing game a proper review. So let’s get to it!
Game GET!! — BlazeBlue: Calamity Trigger

So, ah, lesse. This is the second game The Backloggery has convinced me to get. xD; Once again, saw it floating around, looked it up. I was a little more skeptic on this one, but after a little bit more of looking around and stuff, I convinced myself I should get it, and it was so worth that 60$. :3 Granted I would have thought it over more if I wasn’t able to get the LE, but that’s besides the point.
So far the only characters I’ve played around with enough to know are Noel and Taokaka. Just a couple minutes ago I managed to finish Taokaka’s arcade mode! =D While I don’t like the fact there is no SD mode
(Okay, HD screens + my SD TV + My bad eyesight (let’s not talk about HOW bad, just that they are HORRID) = hard to read the text), and I STILL fail at executing rushes well, it’s a very enjoyable game. Very well worth the 60$ if you can find a LE, and worth it for the 60$ for just the disc if it interests you. I really dislike how high the new gen console games are, but eh, what can I do. I just would suggest thinking it over if you’re unable to get the LE unless you’re some rich person who has nothing better than to play games online. xD;
Also, KOTOKO~! ♥ Ah the OP is so nice~
Game Review — Project Diva

I’ve had the game for a couple of days, but in this case, I’ve just been playing it non-stop and there really was no point into giving it a quick overview since it really only takes a couple hours before you hit the credits (unless you’re REALLY REALLY bad at rhythm games). But that’s not to say it’s bad because there’s lots to do with this game, even if you’ve Hard/Perfect-ed all the songs. Okay, well maybe not LOTS, but there’s still stuff to do.
Anyways, let’s move beyond the cut, and for once I don’t have to warn of spoilers since there is no real plot. xD;
Game Review — Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor

Let me tell you, I have not put this game down for over a week. It’s challenging (Either that or I fail at strategy, both are options), has a plot that grabs you in, and a wide spectrum of interesting and realistic characters. I really enjoyed this game, despite the major agravation and frustration it gave me to finish it. I do plan later on to go back and complete every route (There’s 4 major endings), but right now I’ll enjoy my victory and take on some other games (Like Project Diva, which should be arriving at my house someday soon!)
Follow the cut for a review of sorts, warning spoilers may be included.

Game GET! — Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor

I had actually picked this game up yesterday (last copy they had too!), but I hadn’t really gotten far enough to have anything to say about it. This post is just to say some quick things about it.
I’ve only made it to 18:00 on Day 2 (I’ll just say I’m working on it slowly. xD), but so far it’s hard to pull myself away (well, until I die, then I step away to figure out what I did wrong). The characters are interesting, the plot is well done too. For something that will only take place in 7 days time (Will it actually be 7 days this time? Atlus, you didn’t pull what TWEWY did, did you?), it’s well planned. The story moves along at a nice pace, and most of the major events you need to deal with aren’t until later in the day (Well, so far anyways) which gives you time for other things. Though I will agree with the character Mari, everything’s going to hit the fan soon, and things will get crazy.
Atlus has floored me with their skill with this stuff again, and I’m glad I bought this game. Cannot wait to see how everything plays out.
And one last thing, “Let’s survive.”
Gamer Talk [01.11.09] — Persona, Persona, Persona!

Been a while since I made one of these posts, but here we go. Due to Christmas passing, I have not only gotten a new console but a pile of games to overwhelm myself with. On top of that an MMO has been lost and gained within the past week or so.
So let’s get this thing rolling. As a note, I am attempting to catch up on my anime, I should get ef – melo done sometimes soon… ish.

Game GET! — Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
December 28, 2008 at 11:24 am | In Console | 3 CommentsTags: boring, chain of memories, games, kingdom hearts, ps2
I got this (along with a pile of other games) for Christmas, but now that I finished the First Play through of Persona 4, I finally got the time to play this game. I’ve been into the Kingdom Hearts series since around when it came out. I’ve played just about every game that has made it to US shores (Since I can’t mod my PS2), and enjoyed them all. But coming back to Re:CoM felt… odd. Not to say it’s a bad game from what I’ve done, but at the same time it doesn’t feel as enjoyable as it used to be. I’ve finished this segment of the story, and while I do want to hear all the Organization XIII members voices, it’s not like I have to beat this game to get what’s going to/has happened. This portion of the story is not only long over, but long forgotten within the canon story. These next 60 or so hours are purely wiped from Sora’s memory at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts II… so why even really bother?
So far my only annoyance is the camera angle during battles. It’s just too much to concentrate on. The cards were a challenge, a good one though, in the original game. Why did they make it worse with a camera angle?
Either way, I will still try to finish this game, even if it’s only to hear Larxene’s voice (My personal fave Org.13 member). Hopefully with the release of the DS and PSP titles the game will become much more enjoyable again.
Game Review – Persona 4

After nearly two weeks of almost constant play, I have finished this amazing game. (And no, I’m not kidding on the almost constant play, my parents actually today told me to lay off it a little because I was getting bug eyed over it) I will try to keep spoilers to a minimum, but I think some points will have to be included, so please don’t read it all if you don’t want to be spoiled.
As a begining note, this game had better win some awards. Not only does it have you pushing yourself for the end, but after it’s all done it makes you think about yourself as well.
